Ardbeg Ardbog is a single malt released for Ardbeg Day on 1 June 2013, the day the distillery celebrates its founding with a new whisky each year. The name points to the peat bogs that are spread across Islay.
On the nose there is sea salt and brine, dark fruit and a hint of barbecue, followed by maple syrup, plum, orange, mint and herbal notes, with white coffee coming through. The palate is big and drying to start, with salt-crusted raisins, nuttiness and pickled onions. Red chilli heat and paprika run through the finish.
