Ardbeg Ardcore is a Committee Release single malt Scotch whisky, issued as the 2022 Ardbeg Day bottling.
It is made with black malt roasted to the extreme, and that malt shapes the whole character of the spirit, which is bold from the first sip.
The nose is spicy and savoury, with marmite, burnt toast, chicory charcoal and coffee grounds. The palate is fiery and peppery, with cocoa, dark chocolate, peanut brittle, smoked lime and bonfire embers. The finish is sweeter and long, with treacle toffee, soot and smoke.
