Ardbeg – Ardcore (70cl, 46%)

Ardcore is a limited edition single malt from Ardbeg on Islay, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is made with roasted black malt, which gives it an intense flavour. The label describes that flavour as being like biting a spiky ball, and its punk-inspired design runs across the front. The nose combines grapefruit zest, toasted bread, menthol and heavy peat. Anise, citrus, ash, mint, vanilla pod and roasted barley appear on the palate, followed by a finish of leather and cedar.
