Arrrrrrrdbeg is an Ardbeg single malt matured wholly in ex-rye casks.
On the nose there is gunpowder, smoked banana and pear, which move into vanilla and rye. The palate opens with a spicy mouthfeel and a run of fruity flavours, then aniseed, smoked toffee and a distant hint of sourdough biscuits. The finish is long, with gentle smoke lingering.
