Ardbeg – Auriverdes

Ardbeg Auriverdes is a single malt bottled for Ardbeg Day 2014. Its name points to the gold (auri) of the whisky and the green (verde) of the bottle. Toasted cask lids were used to bring out mocha coffee flavours that sit alongside creamy vanilla. The nose is tarry and herbal, with hints of mocha. On the palate, coffee grounds give way to smoked root vegetables, while maple-cured bacon meets hot-smoked salmon. The finish is a lingering, smoky vanilla note.
