Auriverdes is a limited edition Ardbeg released for the Feis Ile whisky festival in 2014, bottled at 49.9% in a 70cl bottle. The name joins Auri, meaning gold, and verdes, meaning green, as a nod to the World Cup hosted by Brazil that year. The colour is gold. The nose is tarry and herbal, with hints of mocha. On the palate, coffee grounds give way to smoked root vegetables, while maple-cured bacon meets hot smoked salmon. The finish is a lingering, smoky vanilla note.
