Ardbeg BizarreBQ is an Islay single malt bottled at 50.9% in a 70cl bottle. Ardbeg Master Distiller Dr Bill Lumsden created it with Christian Stevenson, known as DJ BBQ.
The whisky is matured in double charred oak casks, Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and purpose-made barbecue casks that were charred more heavily than usual.
The nose offers charcoal, soot, smoky wood, herbs and spices, with toffee, hickory ham and espresso. Water brings out citrus, fennel and aniseed. The palate is spicy with chilli, dense smoke, roasted notes, cloves, tar and leather, and the finish is long and sooty.
