Ardbeg Corryvreckan is a peated Islay single malt in a 700ml bottle, bottled at 57.1% ABV and matured in ex-bourbon casks.
On the nose it is rich and dark, with waxy dark chocolate, blackcurrants, muscovado sugar, cherries and pine needles, then a briny side of seaweed and smoky bacon, with vanilla, cloves and blueberries behind.
The palate is peppery and chewy, with peppered steak, seaweed, black coffee, dark fruits and bitter almonds. The finish is long and powerful, with coffee, chocolate-coated cherries and hot pepper sauce.
