Ardbeg – Corryvreckan (70cl, 57.1%)

An Islay single malt from Ardbeg, bottled without an age statement at a cask strength of 57.1% and non-chill-filtered. It was first launched in 2009. The whisky is a heavily peated malt matured in ex-Bourbon barrels and French oak casks, balancing smoke with rich, sweet notes. On the nose it is typically described as intense peat smoke with dark chocolate, blackcurrant and tarry ropes. The palate brings peppery spice, smoky bacon and muscovado sugar, followed by a long, briny finish of earthy pine.
