Ardbeg – Corryvreckan (70cl, 57.1%)

Corryvreckan is an Ardbeg single malt bottled at 57.1% in a 70cl bottle. It is named after the great whirlpool between the Hebridean islands of Scarba and Jura, off Scotland's west coast. It is non-chill-filtered. The nose combines intense smoke, tar and dark chocolate with blackcurrants, brown sugar and earthy notes. The palate is powerful, with pepper, seaweed and espresso, followed by dark fruit and star anise. The finish is long and deep, with smoke and pepper.
