Ardbeg Corryvreckan is an Islay single malt bottled at 57% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It takes its name from the whirlpool off the Scottish coast and is known for deep peat smoke layered with spice, fruit and a maritime edge.
The nose brings peat smoke, black pepper and dark fruit, with espresso, dark chocolate, seaweed and cloves. On the palate there is black pepper, chilli and tarry smoke, followed by espresso, dark berries and salted caramel. The finish is long and smoky, with charred oak, a touch of iodine and brine, and a drying, smoky sweetness.
