Ardbeg Dark Cove Committee Release is an Islay single malt bottled at 55% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was made for members of the Ardbeg Committee to mark Ardbeg Day on 28 May 2016.
The whisky was matured in dark sherry casks and is known as the darkest Ardbeg ever. The distillery's peat smoke is joined by a richer, more brooding sherried character.
The sherry casks bring notes of treacle toffee, coal tar, squid ink noodles and toasted coffee grounds over a smoky core, with a darker, sweeter and more savoury edge.
