Ardbeg Dark Cove is an Islay single malt released on 28 May for Ardbeg Day 2016, the distillery's open day during the Islay Festival. It is a limited edition, and its name looks back to the island's illicit past and the smugglers who worked under cover of darkness.
It was matured in a combination of ex-sherry and ex-bourbon casks, and Ardbeg presents it as its darkest bottling to date. The character is smoky and spicy, with a hint of sweetness.
