Dolce is Ardbeg's Ardbeg Day release for 2026, launched on 30 May at the close of Fèis Ìle. Its theme is 1960s Italian cinema.
The single malt was matured in bourbon barrels and in sweet Marsala dolce casks from Sicily, a style of fortified wine that carries dried fruit, caramel, fig and chocolate. It is bottled at 47.8%, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour, a deep sunset orange.
The nose offers apricot, raisins, dates and orange marmalade, turning earthier and more saline with water. The palate opens on cinnamon, star anise and liquorice, then smoked wood, maple syrup, baked dates and dark chocolate. The finish brings dried fruit and lemon rind, then a salty close with roasted nuts and chewy peat oils.
