Ardbeg Dolce is the 2026 Ardbeg Day release, created for the distillery's celebration during the Fèis Ìle festival on Islay. It is a limited edition bottled at 47.8% ABV.
Master Blender Dr Gillian Macdonald married whisky from ex-bourbon barrels with whisky from casks that held Marsala Dolce, the sweetest style of Sicilian fortified wine. The distillery calls the result a peaty paradox of sweetness and smoke.
The nose combines peat smoke with apricot jam, marmalade, toasted nuts and dark chocolate. The palate is sweet citrus, dried fruit and roasted almonds with smoke and coastal salinity. The finish is long and warming, with peat and cocoa.
