This is an Ardbeg Islay single malt released for the Feis Ile 2019 festival. It is the first Ardbeg to be finished in rum casks.
The whisky was matured in ex-bourbon casks, then moved to ex-rum casks from the Americas, and it is bottled at cask strength. The colour is dark gold.
The nose has smoked apple, pineapple, ripe banana and pine resin with light woodsmoke. The palate is peppery and smoky, with tar, creosote and dark chocolate, and the finish carries intense smoke and a sweet coffee liqueur note.
