Ardbeg Fermutation Committee Release is a single malt made as an edition for members of the Ardbeg committee. It was distilled in 2007 and bottled in 2021, in an outturn of 8000 bottles.
The nose is fresh, floral, herbal and tart, with mixed herbs, cedar wood, smoked orange and grapefruit, and plenty of menthol and peppermint. With water, diesel oil, tar, fresh paint and aniseed come through. The palate is zingy and firm, with malty biscuit tones, aniseed, cardamom, sweet mint toffee and cigar ash. The finish is long and salty, with mint, tar, oak tannin and leather.
