Ardbeg Galileo is a single malt from the Ardbeg distillery on Islay, released in 2012. It is made from casks distilled in 1999. Some of those casks spent their entire maturation in casks that had previously held Marsala wine, which brought sweet tropical fruit flavours to the whisky. The release celebrates the experiment in which small quantities of Ardbeg were sent into space at the end of 2011 to see how they would mature in zero gravity.
