Ardbeg – Heavy Vapours Committee Release (70cl, 50.2%)

This is an Islay single malt from Ardbeg, bottled at 50.2% in a 70cl bottle as a Committee release. It is the first Ardbeg distilled without a purifier, the part of the still that normally keeps the balance between extreme peat and floral fruitiness. Dr Bill Lumsden, Director of Whisky Creation, devised the experiment so that the heaviest, untamed vapours could rise up the still before being captured, matured and bottled.
