Ardbeg Hypernova is an Islay single malt released in 2022 as the Committee HN2022 release, and the newest bottling in the Supernova series. It is a limited edition at 51% ABV, with a peating level of 170ppm, and it is bottled in natural colour without chill-filtration. The smoke is the focus here, set against a large malty body. On the palate the flavour starts with tar, creosote and soot, which linger before giving way to aniseed smoke and dark chocolate.
