Ardbeg – Perpetuum Distillery Release (70cl, 49.2%)

Ardbeg Perpetuum is a distillery release single malt from Islay, bottled in 2015 at 49.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was made to mark Ardbeg's bicentennial that year, and it combines aged and young spirit. The nose brings ripe pears, juicy berries and sweet oranges, with cinnamon, fresh thyme and light oak. On the palate there is dark chocolate, smoked pear, honeyed figs and gentle nutmeg, with a creamy, velvety texture. The finish is long, with spiced apple and a delicate smokiness.
