Ardbeg Single Cask #3336 is a cask strength single malt from a second-fill bourbon cask, in a 700ml bottle. The spirit was distilled on 4 November 2002 and matured for more than 19 years. The cask was found in the earth-floored Warehouse 10 and might have gone to a classic Ardbeg bottling, but Dr Bill Lumsden set it aside for longer maturation.
The colour is pale gold. The nose is rich and sappy, with smoked clotted cream, pine resin and lime sherbet. The palate is soft and oily, with tar, creosote, aniseed and camphor set against treacle and molasses. The long finish brings leather, walnut, eucalyptus and peppermint.
