This Ardbeg Islay single malt comes from a single second-fill bourbon barrel, cask 3365. The spirit was distilled in 2002 and bottled 18 years later at cask strength, 52% ABV, with 157 bottles filled.
On the nose the smoke is softer than usual, alongside light caramel, soft mocha, vanilla, coastal peat, pipe smoke, iodine and a hint of ripe banana. The palate is oily and creamy, with honey, brine, smoke, almonds, marzipan, tobacco and pepper.
The finish is medium to long, warm, peaty and smoky, with vanilla, herbs and cigar tobacco.
