Ardbeg – Single Cask #343

Ardbeg Single Cask #343 is an Islay single malt drawn from one hand-selected barrel, bottled without blending. It is made from heavily peated malted barley and distilled in copper pot stills on the southern coast of Islay. Matured entirely in a single cask, it shows the peat, oak and maritime character of the distillery. The nose opens with dense peat smoke, charred driftwood and iodine, followed by lemon oil, smoked sea salt and dark cocoa. On the palate come tar, campfire smoke and black pepper against sweet malt, vanilla cream and citrus zest. The finish is long, with peat embers, ash, salted caramel and warming spice.
