Smokehead Unfiltered is an Ardbeg single malt from Islay, bottled by Ian Macleod at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The Ardbeg name cannot appear on the label, so it is sold under the Smokehead name.
It is non-chill-filtered and matured in oak casks, with a dense peat smoke running through it.
The nose is smoky and salty, with cocoa, a little black pepper, roasted almonds and walnut. The palate is oily, with salted cashews, toffee and dark chocolate, and the finish is long, smoky and maritime.
