Ardbeg Smokiverse is the 2025 Ardbeg Day release, a non-age-statement Islay single malt matured in ex-bourbon barrels. It is bottled at 48.3% ABV, non-chill-filtered and with no added colour.
It marks 25 years of the Ardbeg Committee, the distillery's fan club, and is the first Ardbeg made with high-gravity mashing. That method uses less water and more malt for a denser, sugar-rich wort, which brings out more fruity esters in fermentation. The bottles are individually numbered.
The nose has smoked bubblegum, ripening barley and toasted sourdough, with sweet peat smoke and tropical fruit emerging with water. The palate is creamy and full, with creosote, anise and clove behind muscovado sweetness. The finish is long and earthy, with peat moss and bonfire embers.
