Ardbeg Spectacular is an Islay single malt and the distillery's release for Ardbeg Day 2024, tied to Fèis Ìle. The bottle and carton are wrapped in a red and cream spiral with a circus theme, and the label calls the whisky a phenolic phenomenon.
It is bottled at 46% (92 proof), non-chill filtered and at natural colour, with no age statement.
The nose is dense peat smoke with tar and ash, lifted by citrus zest and a sweet malty note. The palate is powerfully phenolic, with smoke, creosote and pepper set against vanilla sweetness and a herbal edge. The finish is long and resinous, with medicinal smoke, ash and lingering sweetness.
