Ardbeg Spectacular is the 2024 release for the distillery's annual Ardbeg Day, bottled at 46% vol. in a 70cl bottle. It is the first Ardbeg to be matured in port casks, alongside the usual maturation in bourbon casks.
The port casks add flavour to the Islay malt and give it a surprisingly colourful appearance.
It is described as showing dark chocolate and mint, with candied fruit, incense and smoked pecans.
