This is the 2014 Committee Release of Ardbeg Supernova, an Islay single malt bottled at 55% in a 70cl bottle.
It is a heavily peated whisky, at 100ppm, and the third edition of Supernova after the 2009 and 2010 releases.
The nose is smoky, ashy and peaty, with dusty, earthy and grassy hay notes and charred lemon. The palate is oily, with spice, sweet and salty brine, and a drying, tangy, charred edge. The finish is drying, with earthy hay and peaty coal smoke.
