Ardbeg Supernova SN2015 is a heavily peated Islay single malt, issued as a Committee Release to mark the end of Ardbeg's experiment in maturing spirit in space. It is bottled at 54.3% in a 70cl bottle.
The peating is the point: 100 ppm, against the usual 50 ppm, which makes it one of the most heavily peated whiskies Ardbeg has produced. The maturation is reportedly 9% sherry casks and 91% bourbon casks.
