Ardbeg – Supernova SN2015 (70cl, 54.3%)

Ardbeg Supernova SN2015 is an Islay single malt bottled at 54.3% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was released as a limited Committee bottling, the last one to mark the end of Ardbeg's experiment in space, and it coincides with the publication of Dr Bill Lumsden's White Paper on zero gravity maturation. The peat level is given as 100ppm. The nose has peppery aromatic herbs, effervescent perfume, smoked fruits, briny seaweed, fennel and earthy vetiver root. On the palate there are waves of spice, salted caramel and billowing smoke, followed by a long, lingering, peppery finish.
