The Harpy's Tale is a 13 year old Islay single malt from Ardbeg, bottled at 46% vol. in a 70cl bottle and not chill-filtered. It is the first release in the Anthology series, inspired by the harpy, the half-human, half-bird creature of legend said to have lived on Islay.
The whisky matured for 13 years in French Sauternes sweet wine casks and is married with Ardbeg from classic ex-bourbon casks.
The nose is oily, with olives, root wood, coriander, sage and lemon zest. The palate is soft and oily, weaving sweetness and smoke, with molasses, aniseed and smoked apricot. The finish is sweet and smoky, with cumin, cardamom and coconut.
