This is Ardbeg The Ultimate, a ten-year-old single malt from the Ardbeg distillery on the south shore of Islay, which has been producing since 1815. It is matured in ex-bourbon casks and is not chill-filtered. Its colour is a deep gold. Smoke and peat lead the flavour, with apple, pineapple, vanilla and caramel alongside. Further notes include salt water, seaweed, pear, clove, liquorice, mocha and pepper.
