Ardbeg Ten Cask Strength, known as The Ultimate, is a 10 year old Islay single malt and a limited Ardbeg Committee Release launched on 24 February 2026. At 61.7% (123.4 proof) it is the strongest Committee Release so far. It comes in a 700ml bottle, non-chill filtered and of natural colour.
Gillian MacDonald and Dr Bill Lumsden created it from hand-selected American oak ex-bourbon casks, among them experimental barrels filled with new make at 71% a decade ago.
The nose offers tar, sea spray, smoke, spice, toffee, creosote, coffee grounds and vanilla, and the finish is long and warming.
