Ardbeg – Traigh Bhan 19 Year Old Batch 3 (70cl, 46.2%)

This is the third batch of Ardbeg Traigh Bhan, a 19 year old Islay single malt bottled at 46.2% vol. It is named after the beach known locally as the Singing Beach, where white sand meets jagged volcanic rock. The whisky matured in American oak and Oloroso sherry casks. Batches differ slightly from one another, so each bottle carries its own numbering and symbols. The nose offers sweet, fragrant wood smoke, sea spray, pine resin, aniseed toffee, citrus peel and a pinch of cayenne. On the palate come tarry toffee syrup, smoked brown sugar, walnuts and gentle spices. The finish is long, with bitter almonds, linseed oil, cloves, pepper and soot.
