Ardbeg Traigh Bhan Batch 3 is a 19 year old Islay single malt, bottled at 46.2% without chill-filtration. It was matured in American oak and Oloroso sherry casks, and like the batches before it, it is inspired by Islay's Traigh Bhan beach.
The whisky waited in the furthest reaches of the Ardbeg warehouse and was bottled during the global lockdown, one of very few releases in the distillery's history to be bottled in such circumstances.
The nose brings woodsmoke, sea spray and pine resin, with aniseed toffee, citrus zest and a little cayenne pepper. The palate is rich and sappy, with sweet smoke, tarry rope, treacle toffee and walnuts. The finish is long, with bitter almonds and clove.
