Ardbeg Traigh Bhan 19 Year Old is an Islay single malt, and Batch 4 has a slightly higher share of Oloroso sherry casks alongside American oak. It is named after the Traigh Bhan beach on Islay and is bottled at 46.2% in a 70cl bottle, with no added colour and no chill-filtering.
The nose opens with herbs, pine and fennel, then lime sorbet, throat lozenges, eucalyptus and saddle soap. Water brings hazelnut, sweet vanilla, blackcurrant and mint chocolate. The palate is a wave of wood smoke with dark chocolate and ground coffee, then lemon cream, peanut brittle, raisin toffee, menthol, aniseed, clove and white pepper. The finish is long, with sweetness, peat smoke, vanilla toffee, dark cocoa and warm clove.
