Ardbeg Trudernish is a 15 year old Islay single malt, added to the distillery's core range and named after the ancient Trudernish settlement on Islay. It is bottled at 48.8% ABV.
The whisky is matured across bourbon casks, new charred oak and Oloroso sherry casks, which wrap Ardbeg's earthy peat smoke in vanilla cream, chocolate and orchard fruit for a softer, fuller-bodied style.
The nose is earthy peat and gentle woodsmoke with vanilla cream and fudge. The palate is creamy and full-bodied, with peat, vanilla, dark licorice, chocolate and toasted nuts. The finish is long, with peat embers and lingering Islay smoke.
