Ardbeg – Uigeadail (70cl, 54.2%)

Ardbeg Uigeadail is an Islay single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 54.2% and non-chill-filtered. It is a vatting that pairs Ardbeg's smoky character with the raisiny tones of old ex-sherry casks, and it takes its name from the loch that supplies the peat-laden water used at the distillery. The nose brings Christmas cake, walnut oil and parma violets alongside ocean spice, cedar, pine needles, coal smoke and well-oiled leather. The palate is sweet and spicy, with treacle and honey-glazed smoked flavours, and the finish is long and chewy, with raisin, mocha and aromatic smoke.
