Ardbeg – Uigeadail Traditional Strength (54.2%)

Ardbeg Uigeadail is a cask strength Islay single malt, bottled at 54.2% ABV and non-chill-filtered. It was first released in 2003 and takes its name from the loch that supplies the distillery's water. The whisky is matured in a mix of ex-bourbon barrels and older ex-sherry casks, which pairs Islay peat with sherry sweetness. On the nose, tar, char and creosote sit alongside Christmas cake, chocolate-coated raisins and walnut oil. The palate is full-bodied and oily, with peat smoke, raisiny fruit jam, brown sugar and winter spices. The finish is long, with smoky liquorice and saline notes.
