Ardbeg Wee Beastie is a five-year-old Islay single malt, bottled at 47.4% and non-chill filtered. It matures in a combination of ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, and has been part of Ardbeg's Ultimate Range since its launch in 2020.
Youth is the point of this bottling. It is one of the youngest age-stated releases from a major Scotch distillery, which earned it the nickname 'enfant terrible'.
The nose brings barbecue coals, worn leather, sea spray and preserved lemon, alongside fresh herbal notes and vanilla. On the palate there is peat smoke with almond, honey and sweet grain, and the finish is warming, with eucalyptus, sea salt and a little cayenne.
