Ardbeg Wee Beastie is a five-year-old Islay single malt, in a 70cl bottle. Ardbeg was founded on the island in 1815 by John McDougall, and this is a peated expression.
It is matured in a mix of ex-bourbon casks and ex-sherry Pedro Ximenez casks.
The nose is fresh and herbal, with vanilla, pear and black pepper. The palate is salty, intense and smoky, with chocolate, peat and eucalyptus. The finish is balsamic and unexpected, recalling pine needles.
