Ardlair 12 Year Old 2014/2026 Cognac Cask Finish (Little Brown Dog) (70cl, 52.6%)

This is an unpeated Ardmore sold as Ardlair, bottled by Little Brown Dog at 52.6% in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled on 22 February 2014 and bottled on 23 February 2026, with 186 bottles filled. The cask began as a refill bourbon hogshead. After it leaked in transit it was moved to a freshly emptied bourbon barrel, then to a cognac barrique that had held a cognac more than 30 years old. The finish was meant to add a little fruit and a more oily texture without overpowering the whisky. A drop or two of water brings it to life. The label shows a goat, taken from the coat of arms above the door at Leith Hall, a neighbour of the distillery.
