Ardmore – 2006 Edition 001 Pedro Ximénez Octave Finish (35cl, 55.9%)

A single malt from Ardmore, distilled in 2006 and released as Edition 001. It was finished in a second-fill Pedro Ximénez octave and bottled at 55.9% in a 35cl bottle. The peat smoke is pronounced enough to recall an Islay whisky more than a typical Highland malt. After its main maturation the whisky spent further time in the Spanish sherry wood. The nose brings citrus and orange. On the palate, spicy smoke meets the freshness of southern fruit, leading to a harmonious finish of medium length.
