Ardnahoe – 2019 6 Years Switzerland Exclusive (70cl, 60.4%)

This is a six-year-old Islay single malt from Ardnahoe, a small batch distilled in 2019 and made for the Swiss market. It matured in just four Oloroso sherry quarter casks, and 683 bottles were filled at a cask strength of 60.4%, without chill-filtration or added colour, in a 70cl bottle. It sits alongside the distillery's core range as a different cask style. The nose offers orange peel, dark forest berries, fine peat fire smoke and salty sea notes. The palate is oily, with toasted pecans, sugar syrup and warm clove spice. The finish is long and full, with a hint of saddle leather and soft, maritime peat smoke.
