Ardnahoe 5 Year Old Inaugural Release is the first official bottling from Ardnahoe, the Islay distillery whose first spirit ran from the stills in 2018. It is a limited edition, bottled at 50%, non-chill-filtered and with no colour added. The whisky matured in ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks.
On the nose, peat smoke meets apple, vanilla, shortbread and crème brûlée, with a trace of leather. The palate is sweet, with sweet peat, apple, lemon and ginger, and the finish is long and smoky, with salted caramel and a lightly drying close.
