Ardnahoe – Bholsa (50%)

Ardnahoe Bholsa is a single malt from the Ardnahoe distillery on Islay, and the second edition in the distillery's Core Releases. It takes its name from the Bholsa caves near the distillery. Around 55% of the whisky matured in ex-Oloroso sherry casks and around 45% in ex-bourbon casks. It is bottled at 50% ABV, non-chill-filtered and without added colour. The nose brings red fruits, walnuts, orange peel and peat smoke. On the palate come raisins, dates and ripe plums over Islay peat. The finish is long and peppery, with lingering smoke, candied fruit and a touch of ginger.
