Ardnahoe – Càraid Ìleach 100% PX Quarter Cask Edition No. 2 (70cl, 50%)

An Islay single malt from Ardnahoe, matured entirely in PX sherry quarter casks and bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Càraid Ìleach is Gaelic for 'the Islay pair', and this is Edition No. 2. It is the distillery's first PX bottling, a limited release of 2613 bottles worldwide, made exclusively for Germany. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The nose offers raspberries, stewed plums, candied orange and maritime peat. On the palate come sultanas, ripe figs and cinnamon, leading into a long, warming finish with a delicate wisp of smoke.
