An Islay single malt from Ardnahoe, bottled at 50% ABV. Caraid Ileach means "The Islay Pair", and this is Edition No. 1 of the pairing.
It is matured entirely in Oloroso sherry quarter casks, from start to finish. The smaller casks bring the spirit into closer contact with the oak, so the wood has a more pronounced influence throughout maturation.
The nose offers rich cacao, orange peel, dark cherries and campfire ash. On the palate come roasted walnuts, spiced fruitcake and nutmeg, leading to a rich finish with a hint of leather and Islay peat.
