Ardnahoe Cask Strength Batch 2 is a small batch single malt from the Ardnahoe distillery on Islay, bottled by Hunter Laing at 61% in a 70cl bottle.
It was matured for 5 years in a combination of ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, and it is non-chill-filtered and natural in colour.
The nose offers peat smoke and maritime salinity, with citrus peel, vanilla and light oak. On the palate, sweet malt is balanced by dark fruits, warming spice and developing smoke. The finish is long and smoky, with iodine, charred wood and coastal notes.
